B.F.A. in Theatre with Applied Theatre Specialization
University of Victoria, Victoria, B.C.
Provides theoretical and practical foundation in applying theater to teaching; cultural, recreational and community planning; historic and environmental sites; museums; social and correctional services; healing and health agencies. Year1: exploring improvisational techniques and collective creation. Year 2: historical survey of theater applications in nontraditional settings; devising of a performance. Year 3: workshop design/facilitation, leadership in applied contexts. Year 4: designing project for an applied setting (classroom, youth center, a senior center, prison, etc.). Graduate studies considered at discretion of Head of Applied Theatre.
