In his new essay "The Dialectic of Community Arts Practice and Globalization, or Is This Parade Going the Wrong Way?" <http://www.communityarts.net/readingroom/archive/47borrup.php> Tom Borrup poses some thorny questions when he asks "How would you feel if methods developed through decades of hard work by community-based artists and organizations in the U.S. were used by The World Bank in remote African or Asian communities as tools to build an economy capable of contributing to global corporate capitalism? Are these methods still noble? Do they have intrinsic or inherent subversive value?"

I thought it would be interesting to hear other thoughts and discussion on these questions that revolve around the issue of whether or not there are wrong ways to do the right things.

Give the essay a read and come back here and let us know what you think.
