Governor’s Arts Initiative 2006
Sponsored by the Maryland State Arts Council, in collaboration with The Baltimore Museum of Art.
WHO: All artists living and working in Maryland.
WHAT: The Maryland State Arts Council inaugurates siteMaryland,
a month-long juried exhibition held at a different location each year.
Artists are invited to submit proposals for outdoor works to be exhibited on site at The Baltimore Museum of Art. Successful proposals will rethink and reinvent the exterior spaces of the museum with innovative works that explore the special features of this location.
WHERE: The Baltimore Museum of Art
WHEN: Deadline for proposals is August 18, 2006.
Exhibition dates are October 1 - 29, 2006.
WHY: To showcase the leading contemporary artists in Maryland.
HOW: Applicants are encouraged to visit the museum and develop ideas for the site. Submissions must include a written description of the concept and images of recent work. Awards ranging from $1,000 to $2,500 will be granted as needed for materials.
