JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Director of Community Partnerships

Position Description:
The Office of Community Arts Partnerships (OCAP) was founded to enable Columbia College Chicago (CCC) to more fully realize the college’s commitment to make itself a vital part of its community and to better prepare students to “author the culture of our time”. OCAP is charged with creating an infrastructure through which the college’s faculty, students and administration can develop meaningful relationships with community residents. The Director of Community Partnerships reports to the OCAP Executive Director and Deputy Director of Operations and Communications with the daily management of the program. The Director of Community Partnerships is accountable to the OCAP Executive Director, Deputy Director of Operations and Communications and the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Manages all Community Partnerships program initiatives
• Leads initiatives related to effective partnering between OCAP and CCC students, faculty, staff, and alumni
• Manages the Community Partnerships Program Coordinator and Community Partnerships Administrative Assistant
• Provides guidance to staff to meet vision/mission of Community Partnerships by articulating core concepts/goals/objectives (including linkages to CCC and community)
• Articulates core competencies and expectations of job performance for staff
• Oversees and manages workload of staff to ensure successful program delivery
• Proactively facilitates ongoing communication with CCC and all Community Partnerships program partners
• Co-develops and maintains strategic partnerships within the College, local communities, nationally and internationally
• Facilitates development of frameworks for evaluation, program improvement, and quality assurance that activates all partners across selected OCAP-wide initiative
• Develops assessment tools for the Community Partnerships programs
• Creates and monitors communication strategies to effectively disseminate specific program successes and opportunities internally and externally
• Develops training and professional development opportunities for Community Partnerships staff and partners
• Interfaces with Accounts and Operations Manager
• Communicates regularly with Development Manager to discuss prospecting for Community Partnerships Program
• Responsible for grant writing and final reporting for all Community Partnerships Programs
• Cultivates new funding strategies to sustain and expand current program structure
• Monitors and revises budgets to ensure funder compliance and seamless program operation
• Represents OCAP/CCC at events, conferences, seminars, etc.
• Participates in overall Leadership Team at OCAP
• Meets with Senior Managers on an ongoing basis to discuss alignment of vision/mission for Community Partnerships
Qualifications and General Skills needed for this position:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences
• Five years (minimum) experience organizing and managing arts programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Must have flexible schedule, some evenings and weekends required
• Computer skills including word-processing, database and Internet research
• Familiarity with creating budgets
• Ability to write grant proposals and reports
• Highly motivated and independent worker
• Ability to work as a team member
• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and functions well under pressure
• Knowledge of community-based arts organizations throughout Chicago as well as a passion for arts in youth and community development
