We try to keep abreast of the quickly growing independent-media field, and one of the ways we do it is to subscribe to the P.O.V. newsletter. P.O.V. (point of view) is a 20-year-old showcase for independent nonfiction film, airing on public TV. The program is also extremely active in growing the field. P.O.V. works with selected filmmakers to craft a strategic broadcast plan that includes a national press campaign, outreach and educational activities in partnership with public television stations, educators and community-based organizations, a stand-alone Web site and other materials. In addition, through its Community Engagement Network, P.O.V. works with thousands of educators and community groups, reaching over 15,000 people directly. The program has an unusually interactive Web site where viewers can respond to programming. Today's P.O.V. newsletter is full of goodies: To keep up with this dynamic field, subscribe to the P.O.V. newsletter. CommentsPost a comment Thanks for signing in, . Now you can comment.
