Linda Frye Burnham / 02:11 PM

Forwarded from Jessica Holt at the Bauen Camp in Wyoming:

Hi Folks,

I am asking you all to be on the ASAP lookout for a Guest "Artist"/Session Co-Director for Bauen 2008 Session Two.

Dates: June 30- July 7 Staff Orientation
July 30 - August 18 Session Two

Compensation: Room, Board, Transportation, $2500

Focus of the session is the integration of art and environment in building sustainable individual life styles and
sustainable communities. The 'art' background of this Co-
Director may be many-multi-disciplinary, then.

S. Smith Patrick, San Francisco, an outstanding young, vibrant photographer/ videographer will be one of the Session Co-Directors. See her visual and writing at www.shuttersmith.com .
I met her at the Purpose Prize summit at Stanford last fall.

Requirements for Session Director? See attached Job Description. Art discipline: playwright, music, performance
or .......with strong interest in the environ ment; ecology, biology, astronomy, etc background would be great.

We also have two openings for Counselor/Teachers. I have attached a Counselor/Teacher Job Opportunity
Flyer for a Dancer/Choreographer, and an overall job description for a Counselor/Teacher. We have a UW writer Joseph Holt who is thinking about the writing counselor, but no commitment so I must keep seeking. Send your MFA good writing teachers our way - I have already connected with UW English Dept and Eastern Washington U in Cheney/great programs, both. We also have Montana and Denver connections helping to recruit the dancer, but no commitment yet (position until last week held by Amy
Benenate, Austin).

We will have a nice balance of new and returning staff in the cabins. Our present counseling/teaching staff this summer will be: Terence Pedro, Zuni, Ceramics/ (year 4), Jeremy Pinc, WI, Painter/Comics/3-D/Mt. Biking (year 1), Crystal Spring, MN, Theater (year two), Cora Cresalius, enviro/ anthro (year 1). We will have a fine contingent of extra adult mentors present for the campers, including Mentors from the outreach focus areas, our Education Interns (age 30 to 80) and our new teachers' Education Fellow program. We a retired LA policeman who has applied to be an Education Intern. Jan Mandel, long-time St. Paul Central HS drama teacher and author, founder of the Black Box Theater there, is returning as Director of Session One. She is selecting her
Co-Director as we speak.

Please send interested candidates to our website and/or have them contact me directly at 307 655 9760.

Our deadline for 2008 staff appointments is February 1. 2008 program staff and dates will be posted to our website and published in our forthcoming 2008 brochures.

Thanks very much! Jessica.
