Nationwide Week of Protest Includes Arts

ufpj06.jpg Arts events are among the more than 500 antiwar actions planned across the U.S. during a Nationwide Week of Protest, March 15-22, 2006. Artists are organizing performances, concerts and more, along with the hundreds of marches, protests and peace vigils planned around the country. There are 104 events in New York alone. The week of actions, coordinated by United for Peace and Justice, includes a National Day of Local Media Protest, March 15; a National Day of Youth and Student Action Against the War, March 16; Local Actions to Keep the Pressure on Congress, March 20; and a Global Call for Nonviolent Resistance to End the U.S.-Led Occupation of Iraq, March 20. A searchable list of actions is online. [LINK]
