Imagining Glasgow in 2020

glasgow.jpg Glasgow 2020 is an ambitious project to tell a new "non-institutional" story about the future of the Scottish city, collecting stories and images through workshops, competitions, events and creative projects, culminating in a book and exhibition based on "public imagination." Say the organizers, "People are turning their back on formal democracy. They’re less likely to vote and if they do, it’s likely to be with a heavy heart. But we still care about issues in the world around us." They want to "build a better unconditional dialogue between people and public institutions." There's a story competition, a Cabin Exchange, a Hairdressers Chatter Group, storytelling workshops and lots more. It's coordinated by Demos, a "think-tank for everyday democracy."
