March 22, 2006 Film Voicing Citizen Views Set for NOLA Festival
“…after the wind, child, after the water’s gone…," a new post-Katrina media project by John Sullivan and Bryan Parras, will show at the New Orleans International Human Rights Film Festival April 6 - 15, 2006.
The DVD was shot in Louisiana's Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes (Houma Indian Nation & Cajun country) and Chalmette in St. Bernard parish. It airs citizen views on how to best address the massive environmental health toll in coastal Louisiana. Sullivan and Parras are artists who work with the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). Sullivan has written about his work for CAN. Parras is an actor with El Teatro Lucha and a producer of the Pacifica radio show "Nuestra Palabra: Latino Writers Having Their Say."
