Activate the Learning, Support the Field

Here's a catch-up on the Community-based Practicum in Youth Arts at Columbia College Chicago by its coordinator Nicole Garneau. Garneau presented this paper at the 31st Annual Social Theory, Politics and the Arts Conference at the University of Oregon in October 2005. She fills us in on how the Master’s in Arts Management with a concentration in Arts in Youth and Community Development at Columbia has progressed since CAN covered its debut in 2003. Garneau is the assistant director of CCC's Center for Community Arts Partnerships as well as a political activist, and she offers some keen insights on training, along with links to the Practicum Sites, an academic plan and an assessment model. Garneau also covered the STPA conference for CAN. [LINK]
